The restaurant is located in a spacious winter garden with a completely glass ceiling and walls, which provides a warm natural light to the interior spaces characterized by vintage touches contrasting with modern architecture.
It is from this room/garden, ideally resembling a large glass case that encloses and protects important things, that the restaurant’s name, “LA TECA,” originates.
Historical background
Bistagno
Bistagno is a town in the Diocese of Acqui, founded in 1253 by Bishop Enrico, who united three smaller villages to counter the power of local lords.
The triangular fortification was located on the left bank of the Bormida River, with a castle and six towers. Bistagno held an important strategic position, crossed by the Via Aemilia Scauri.
The name derives from one of the earlier villages and indicates the geographic location near the confluence of the two Bormida rivers. Historical documents mention Bistagno under various names, and according to Olivieri, the name may come from “stagno,” referring to a marshy area.
